Abstract Title:Modern Computational Methods and their Applications in Complex Flows

Biography:

Hui XU obtained his PhD from Xi’an Jiaotong University and completed postdoctoral studies from Sorbonne University Pierre and Marie Curie and Imperial College London. He is now a tenured associate professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the director of Mind-Edge Research Center. He has published more than 80 papers in reputed journals and has been serving as an editorial board member for several international journals.

Research Interest:

This talk will provide a concise overview of recent advancements in high-fidelity numerical approaches and their applications in fluid mechanics. The accurate analysis and understanding of complex physical phenomena in fluid flows rely on solving the governing equations with high precision, enabling reliable and accurate evaluations of scientific and engineering strategies in real-world applications. The presentation will explore recent progress in improving the stability and efficiency of high-fidelity large-scale simulations of complex flows, addressing challenges in computational cost and numerical accuracy. Additionally, it will highlight how incorporating high-fidelity numerical methods into application-driven areas not only enhances practical outcomes but also enriches our understanding and implementation of these advanced techniques, fostering mutual advancement in both theory and practice.
